It is now possible to connect a Bluetooth-capable mobile telephone to a Volvo car’s audio and loudspeaker system – totally wirelessly. With the help of the new accessory Volvo Hands-free with Bluetooth®, a mobile telephone becomes an integrated hands-free system with voice dialling.

Volvo Hands-free with Bluetooth® can be fitted in most late-model Volvo cars. The system consists of an electronic control module, a module with function buttons, a dedicated microphone located near the rear-view mirror, and the necessary wiring.
The mobile telephone used must be Bluetooth-capable. Once a paired link has been set up with the car’s Bluetooth module, the telephone is recognised and connected automatically when the owner enters the car. The mobile phone can then be used as an integrated hands-free system, regardless of whether it is still in the owner’s pocket or if it has been placed in the car. Sound comes through the car’s audio system’s loudspeakers. For incoming calls, audio system sound is muted automatically.

Up to four mobiles can be connected
Up to four telephones can be easily connected to the system so that everyone in the car can have his or her mobile connected, although only one at a time.
The system is extremely flexible and simple to use. It is easy to switch between the hands-free function and the telephone during the course of a call. And it is not necessary to remain in the car just because a hands-free call is in progress. Simply switch over to the mobile telephone and leave the car without interrupting the call.

Make a voice dialled call
The Bluetooth system’s control module is located in the dashboard. The limited number of buttons makes it easy to use. A press on the blue, back-lighted Talk button makes the system voice controlled. The user’s voice commands then determine who will be called, and also control various system functions. If voice tags have been added to the mobile telephone, merely say the name of the person to be called. Contacts that have been stored in the hands-free system can be used regardless of which mobile phone is used, or who says the contact name. Up to 20 contacts can be stored in the hands-free system.
For incoming calls, the number of the incoming caller, or name if it has been stored in the list of contacts, will be read as a voice message (on the condition that the mobile phone supports this function).
Voice dialling is both convenient and promotes safety. The system supports voice dialling in English (both British and American), French, Spanish, Italian, and German.

This is an important reason for Volvo to introduce this accessory.”

Volvo Hands-free with Bluetooth® is provided as a complete package, and can be quickly and easily fitted by your nearest Volvo dealer. The system can be fitted in the Volvo S40/V50 from model year 2005, the S60/V70/XC70/XC90 from model year 2000, and in the Volvo S80 from 1998 to 2006.

bij mijn parrot gaat het straks ook over de speakers, en een radio-mute zit er ook in ... dus geen enkel probleem

Koop een Pioneer DEH-P55BT en je hebt dit alles met een goede radio met mp3/wma cd speler.

Of de nieuwe Becker Grand Prix, mooi eenvoudig design, super geluid en nu ook een BT carkit.... Geen optie als je al zon mooie Volvo radio hebt natuurlijk, maar voor iedereen die deze Volvo set niet in kan bouwen zeker de moeite waard!

Nou, ik heb in ieder geval even m'n dealer gebeld en die wisten er nog niet van. Een kwartier later werd ik terug gebeld dat het inderdaad klopte en ik heb 'm dus besteld!

bijna het 3 dubbele van een aftermarket carkit die ook erg functioneel is. Een parrot kost €180. Maarja, voor een volvo radio cassete radio betaal je ook al €350 à €500.

De beschrijving van de kit lijkt op die van de parrot 3000, de simpelste en goedkoopste versie (EUR 100, via internetwinkels). Wel een functioneel apparaatje, lijkt me. Daar komen dan nog wat kabels bij (ca. EUR 50)

Enigzins ter relativering: voor het inbouwen moet in zo'n beetje de halve auto panelen en bekleding worden weggehaald. Daar zit wel een paar uurtjes werk in...een halve dag of daaromtrent

Mooie foto's. Geeft inderdaad een goed beeld. En twee uur valt me mee. Hoort dat blauwe kastje ook bij de Parrot?

maar... in de V50 moet je ook nog met een kabeltje helemaal naar achter in de auto, omdat daar de versterker zit. Dus: langs de zijportieren, onder de achterbank door, plinten in de achterklep weghalen en van dat soort dingen.

Dat blauwe schermpje achter mijn stuur is inderdaad ook van de parrot. Als ik mij niet vergis hoef je voor de parrot niet helemaal naar je versterker. Je zet als het ware je parrot kabels tussen de volvo voedingskabels en de autoradio kabels. Dus aan de ene kant van de parrot komen de kabels die vanaf de accu en luidsprekers enz. komen en het andere bundeltje kabels van de parrot plug je weer in je radio.

Ik bedoelde eigenlijk dat blauwe kastje op de bodem van de auto, op de foto naast je gaspedaal.

Zoals ik het tot nu toe begreep komt de parrot tussen de versterker en de luidsprekers. Er is een verloopstekker met pluggen die in je versterker passen en waar de luidsprekerkabels weer op worden aangesloten. Daarvoor moet je dus bij de versterker zijn. En die zit weer achter in de auto, in het onvolprezen Volvo-netwerk. Zo'n vaste radio heeft voordelen, maar ook nadelen

Hey, dit is goed nieuws! Meteen maar een mailtje naar mijn wagenpark beheerder gestuurd dat ie dit nog moet veranderen. Kan toch mooi m'n privé en zakelijke telefoon beide handsfree gebruiken, zonder ze in een houder te hoeven zetten
