Although I never understood the fact of people cleaning their engines since its a meaningless job till a certain degree, I for example only clean the worse dirt under the hood and thats it.
Remember a clean engine isn't a used engine :razz:

actually you have a point about cleaning motor..its not rational but i'd looove to see it clean..dont know why..never in my live i did it..
now i'd like to..and itsnot like car is not driven..it has 4 tons(as people here say)..and since i got it im driving it for every little thing possible hehehehe..soon i'll go to to toillete with him.. :roll:

I'd do it at a d.i.y. car-wash-box. Choose a program with soap and a high pressure waterspray coming from the nozzle. (or even the rim (velgen) program) DO keep in mind that you keep the engine running, and avoid the sparkplugs, sparkplugcables and other electric stuff.
Always use clean water to rinse it off.

It cleans like crazy but smells even worse then crazy. Result is that you have a nice clean engine bay which smells like an oilboat for the next couple of years! Think I would prefer a dirty engine bay. A better option is to get yourself a bottle of Dusty ontvetter (degreaser) from Wibra, which is a budget household store. It's cheap, degreases like nothing else and as an added bonus it even smells nice!
But remember that if you get you're engine cleaned out in the open it is an environmental offense. The fines over here for pollution are really steep.

It doesn't smell if u are using lots of water afterwards.. But a degreaser is better, thats true.

ok thanks guys..still not sure about doing it myself but if car washes cost to much i'll consider it..the idea with degreeser from wibra sound good..as long as there is no water spashing on engine..that i dont dare to do..mietje.. :D :D

thanks blasaway..i think that it looks great..and mehanicly is fine and also all electrics work perfectly..so everything else (cosmetics) is not that much but still has to be done..all according with finantiele situation.. :P

How nice to see that my father's old (company)car is still running. He drove it from 1998 till 2001. He build in the LPI at 40000 km's and sold the car at 120000 km's.
Because of the taxes for using a company car in privat, he sold it and bought then an old Mercedes 230 from 1979. But he enjoyed his 960 very much and I find it nice to see that it is still in good shape. How many km's has it driven by now?

Since 2002 I drive an S90 from 1998 myself. The finest Volvo ever made.

hey john..now it stands at 405000 and it run smoothly as ever..
but i think it was in some accident..it need re-allignement and balancing of wheels..front windsheeld is in sorry state..and front of engine is full of new parts..soooo..
also think that paint is not original..
but today i have appointment for wheels and lpg so we'll know more..if i get lpg consupmtion down and check that wheels are straight and safe i'll be happy..and in a month or so comes new vooruit and i think everything after that is cosmetics.. :)

john a.k.a. broker can you tell me how much car spent gas when you had it??? to me it goes around 20 liter per 100 km..or 1 in 5..probably even more.. :(

This is not normal. I have a V90 with Vialle LPI and it uses 1:7 for small distances with traffic jams up to 1:8,2 for long distance trips.

The LPG consumption you mentioned is not normal. Normal is 1: 7,5 as an average consumption and the car did that in our time. My S90 3.0 with 204 Hp and LPG needs 1:7 till 1: 7,5.
So you have to look what's wrong there. The LPG set-up is a Vialle LPI .

hahahahahahaaaaa baby pics of my babyyyyy..he was so cute :D:D:D:D
and he still is..now in his best years..

about consumption i had LPG checked i everything is perfect..
so now next step is diagnostic at mechanic for engine..
acctualy im happy that gas is ok..hope that whatever the problem with engine is it wont be to complicated..and that my people back home will be able to solve if here is to expensive..

anybody has any idea why engine spends so much???

and i have a question...i cant pump spare tyre..i did everything correct and all four tyres are now at 2.3.bar and i wanted to fill spare couse is empty but it just didnt want to go..no metter how i placed the nozzle air wasnt going..why???

@ gasstation airpumps, there is a special button for fully empty tires. use that.

Best thing to check first now I think is if the engine has a high petrol consumption too. So fill petrol tank, drive aboute 300 km on petrol the same way you drive on LPG and fill the petrol tank up again.

If petrol consumption is normal problem is in LPG system
If petrol consumption is also too high, than there is a problem with the engine, e.g. a sensor. In that case, read the error codes of the Motronic ECU. You can do this with a OBD Volkswagen KKL-cable (look on Marktplaats, it costs about Euro 15,-) and a program such as Vol-FCR or Brick-diag. You can also ask on the volvo700vereniging for someone in your area to read the codes.
