Volvo, it seems, is on the up. Look at the Concept Coupe and XC Concept Coupe. Admittedly neither is real, or destined for production (in unsullied form at least), but both show a brave new vision for the company. Especially under Thomas Ingenlath's pen - a man that's made a bold departure from the Home Counties Vicarage styling common to Volvos yore.

With Volvo emerging as a legitimate source of cool, we've been looking back through the Swedes' back catalogue to remind ourselves of the Really Good Stuff the company has done in the past.. Here, in no particular order, are ten reasons Volvo might be brilliant.

Ze hebben t merk ooit compleet afgezeken, jaar of tien terug. Toen keek ik t altijd op vrijdagavond in t studentenhuis. Maar daarna zag ik wel dat Clarkson iig een Volvo heeft gereden. Volgens mij heeft Clarkson een 850 R ooit gehad als ik t me goed herinner. Maarja die serie bestaat weer zo lang, dat ik t allemaal niet meer precies weet.

in ieder geval een XC90.
