Hello Everyone!

First, sorry for the language. I don't speak Dutch, and this is the best forum for Volvo V60 D6 worldwide!


I have purchased a MY2014 Volvo V60 D6 in Spain, this car has been imported from Netherlands. 5.5 yearls old, 100000kms.

Maintenance book is OK, more or less all revisions have been placed normally every year/30000km, in Verkerk Volvo Utrecht, and SlavaAuto Haarlem.

I would like to know, the history of the car, the detail of the revisions, if anytime has been replaced [1, 2 or 3... ] AC Compressors, that is the only thing that really worries me.

The AC runs Perfectly yesterday 43 degrees!!! , smooth and nice. Sometimes, from outside, the car makes a lot of fan noise, I think this is absolutly normal.

The Problem with the AC Compressors has NO WARRANTY CHANGE IN SPAIN. So in event of the typical problem, long discussed in this forum, I would have to pay entirely by myself. Around 2000€. And it seems to be a lottery.


The Questions:

1. Does anyboyd knows where should I kindly ask for the Maintenance History of my Volvo D6?

2. The AC works absoluty fantastic. Do you think I should go for a "preventive maintenance", go to a AC Professional or a Volvo dealer and flush the circuit and change the oil of the AC Compressor for the official HELLA 8FX 351 213-111 POE oil, in orther to avoid future problems?

If you contact Verkerk Volvo Utrecht and SlavaAuto Haarlem by email, I'm sure they will provide you with this info.
There's is still no permanent fix for the AC compressor. Volvo Cars Netherlands keeps replacing them for free (while replacing all the oil). I don't recommend a preventive oil flush.
I know 2 cases where the AC compressor is replaced for free at the Dutch Volvo dealership for exported V60's.
The problem is you'll have to drive/ship to car to the Netherlands.

If you plan a yearly holiday trip to the Netherland, the preventive AC compressor replacement can be carried out at the same time.

Good idea... The car was bought in Netherlands. The problem is, the car has now Spanish plates and papers, a new owner, do you think they will change the compressor free of charge?

If they see it has the dutch dealer service history, they will.

I dont think so, with the export of a car the extended dutch warranty stops also

No one will replace a good, working, compressor for free. You'll have to wait till it fails.

There was a other foreigner on this forum who drove to the original dealer when his compressor failed and got it repaired free of charge, he drove all the way from Romania(?) and was lucky the car didn't went into limp mode.

Or make a service appointment in the Netherlands. From May/June Volvo replace working AC compressors to avoid problems. My last compressor was still working but the dealer insisted it should be replaced. After 12 months repeat this procedure.

Just wondering...

Topic Starter has a D6, not a hybrid. As far as I know, only the Hybrids are suffering from this AC-compressor problem. Or am I mistaken?

D6 is a hybrid. It's just a really heavy D5

Marine engine
The D5244T is also offered as a marine engine by Volvo Penta under the name D3. The marinised engine is in large parts identical to D5244T.

Als je vindt dat dit het beste Volvo V60 D6 forum ter wereld is, dan kan je Nederlands lezen, toch?

Dit is niet pesterig bedoeld voor jou, maar dit is een Nederlandstalig forum en ik vraag me af waarom iedereen hier ineens in de Engelse modus schiet.
