Ik krijg toch sterk de indruk dat dit niet veel meer is dan een soort IOS mirrorlink.
Hoewel onder het filmpje staat dat je "not really" gedwongen wordt om een iphone te kopen, blijkt dat niet uit de tekst.
Sterker nog, daar blijkt eerder het tegenovergestelde uit.
Voor mij ziet het eruit dat de Apple knop op het dashboard een aantal apps op de iphone mirrored op de Ferrary dash.
Niets mis mee, tenslotte hadden we allemaal met SCT ook hoop de telefoon te kunnen mirroren.

ik vind ook de opmerking dat Volvo zich blijft richten op Android en mirrorlink wel opmerkelijk.

Hoe dan ook, het lijkt allemaal voer te worden voor de hackers!

Het systeem is het idd beste te vergelijken met Apple's Airplay, alleen kunnen er ook in dit geval commando's terug gegeven worden wat met Airplay niet kan. Zodoende kan Ferrari ook een knop aansturen die de "mirroring" activeert. Het ziet er wel mooi uit zo vind ik en verwacht ook dat de implementatie richting andere mobiele besturingsystemen zal gaan volgen.

Wellicht krijgen de betrokken fabrikanten wel een leuke fee of support qua ontwikkeling naar hun eigen infotainment systemen op basis van een deal tbv de ondersteuning voor apple carlink en dat ze voor een x tijd alleen Apple mogen aanbieden in hun systeem.

Apple CarPlay is available for iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c and iPhone 5 running the latest version of Apple’s iOS operating system. Apple CarPlay will be available in forthcoming Volvo models based on the new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), starting with the all-new Volvo XC90 later in 2014.
