Ik vind de nieuwe E sedan niet mooi. De T zal wel beter te pruimen zijn in mijn eigen, daar ik nu het meeste moeite heb met de daklijn.

ROCKLEIGH, N.J. (January 6, 2016) Volvo Cars is introducing an advanced version of the company’s semi-autonomous Pilot Assist software on the all-new Volvo S90 sedan and making it standard on all S90s sold in the United States.

Pilot Assist was first introduced on the 2016 Volvo XC90 and allows the vehicle to accelerate, decelerate, come to a complete stop and steer in road conditions with clear lane markings based on the car in front up to speeds of 30 M.P.H.. The second generation Pilot Assist on the S90 will allow these functions to work up to highway speeds (80 M.P.H.) without the need for a pilot car. The Volvo S90 will be the first car in the United States that makes semi-autonomous technology standard.

“Making semi-autonomous features standard in the S90 symbolizes Volvo’s commitment to autonomous driving and our Vision 2020,” said Lex Kerssemakers, President & CEO of Volvo Car USA, “The S90 will be the first vehicle to offer this semi-autonomous technology as standard.”

The all-new Volvo S90 will make its public debut at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and will be available in U.S. retailers later in 2016.

Mooie auto !! Wel benieuwd naar de hoofdruimte, die hier in bovenstaande verslag er al minder goed uit komt. Verder alles wat je leest zeer positief. Ook met V90. En nu maar paar maanden wachten tot de auto in Nederland beschikbaar komt.

Volvo Cars’ S90 premium sedan has been voted Production Car Design of the Year 2015 by a panel of professional car designers from around the globe.

The award, presented by Car Design News, represents the pinnacle of automotive design awards. The jury is made up of eighteen top car designers from around the world from companies such as Bentley, Daimler, McLaren and Ferrari. “Our use of high-end materials, classic proportions and controlled surfacing reflects our intention to forge our own path. We don’t want to fit in, we want to stand out,” said Thomas Ingenlath, Senior Vice President, Design, at Volvo Car Group. Front Quarter Volvo S90 Osmium Grey. Volvo Cars’ interiors have received a lot of attention in recent times thanks to the serene nature of the design and the use of key design elements, exemplified by the elegant air blades and control surfaces in the new S90.

The Volvo S90 was chosen by the eighteen-strong panel of judges from a list of twenty contenders. The premium sedan received praise for its great proportions, authentic use of materials and timeless design. Commenting of the award, Car Design News editor Owen Ready said that the S90 was recognised “for its priority of clear, calm design over the ‘styling entertainment’ that has been plaguing the industry for too long”. The award was presented at a ceremony hosted by Car Design News in Geneva.

Gisteren de V90 in levende lijve mogen zien en voelen op de Classica in Essen. Een grote auto, keurig afgewerkt met mooie materialen. Het front is imposant.
