Ter gelegenheid van de opening van de Los Angeles Auto Show gaf CEO Stefan Jacoby een voordracht.

"From now on, you can expect us to do things faster, better and smarter," says Stefan Jacoby. "We will bring new ideas to the market quicker than before. We are focusing on a driver centric approach and we will stand out from the crowd by delivering a distinct, individualist car experience. Not by copying our main competitors. Instead, we will do it by carving out our own, unique Scandinavian profile."


Scandinavian design and quality, world-class safety features and breakthrough environmental technology will remain the heart and soul of Volvo Cars also in the future.


Non-compromise electric cars
"Our focus on cutting CO2-emissions is a good example. More and more people are asking for fuel efficiency, alternative fuels and innovative electric vehicles in their search for sustainable mobility. But these conscious people don't want to compromise with the pure joy of owning a luxury car. Why should they? We are working on various initiatives offering the same full experience as a car with a traditional driveline," says Stefan Jacoby.

Volvo Cars will start running a test fleet of the C30 DRIVe Electric in California next year.

"We will be working hard to please the American luxury car buyers in the coming years. This includes introducing more attractive products and improving our customer care. The new Volvo Cars will be a different kind of luxury carmaker for a changing world, " says Stefan Jacoby.

haha lachwekkend. Scandinavisch ontwerp hebben ze midden jaren 90 de deur uitgedaan.

Ben ik het niet mee helemaal mee eens mightyspawn. Het design uit bv de s80 / v70 is een erg net, rust uitstralend interieur. Iets wat onderscheidend is ten opzichte van de grote 3 denk ik. Hoop dat volvo in die lijn blijft werken. In de nieuwe s60 vind ik die rust wel al iéts minder. Natuurlijk ook wel een auto met een andere doelgroep/uitstraling.
