BEIJING, Oct 25 Asia Pulse - The Chongqing factory of Changan Ford Automobile Co Ltd in Southwest China will start production of Mazda 3 and Volvo S40 cars soon, according to sources of the company.
Mazda 3 is expected to roll off the line at the end of this year and debut on the market in March next year, and the Volvo S40 car in April of 2005.
The two will be manufactured on the same production line of Focus car of the Chongqing factory of Changan Ford.
According to related reports, market price of the Volvo S40 is estimated at 400,000-500,000 yuan (US$49,500-$61,880) in China, and that of Mazda 3 will be 110,000-150,000 yuan, 10,000-20,000 yuan lower than Focus which has just been launched on the market.
